I wouldn't assume DA is the cause. I think that something else infected your PC a while back and that's making the ads pop up. Malicious software doesn't always act as soon as it gets in. If that happened, it'd be too obvious.

Have you been using Limewire? BitTorrent? Also, spyware is pretty common on sites that have manga scanlations, game ROMs, anime episodes, etc. Even if you aren't using any of these sort of things now, you could've got nailed a few months back, and it finally shows itself.

Spyware can come from anywhere, I suppose even DA. Not DA fault persay, after all, there are tons of people who have virus pages and who knows what. And you may not be as alone as you think, perhaps its just the start of a serious problem for all of DA. Or maybe not DA at all, got no idea.

The virus may have gotten to your web browser and to your most visited site, and that is why it is acting when you go on DA more than the others. It happened to me, too, and it is Vundo saying F you -__- Trust me.

Please reformat as soon as possible. Don't leave DA because of the virus. I assure you, as well as your supporters here, it'll be okay...

Get Chrome, actually. Or Opera. A change of browser will help, but DO NOT make it your main internet browser. The infection will only happen again. This will delay the process and give you more time to save things and reformat.
Is it a family computer? Is that the reason why it is being delayed? If so, express the importance of getting rid of the virus or you'll never get things back lol...

Run Hijack This and see what programs are running. Sounds like a Trojan or other such exe file doing it. Not DA.

Look in your program files too or your add/remove programs. You might see a popup program in there. I had that happen to me once.
